The phones have odd ring tones, but the talk sound is exceptionally clear. The answering machine is easy to use. Good purchase, and a value at the price., I mainly wrote this review to THANK those users who pointed out the paint defects on this phone. Apparently the printed on labels (CID, sp-phone, Vol, Call Wait, Redial) rub off after being touched by fingers (possibly body oils dissolve them), making a general mess. . With some fear and trepidation (as we just bought these phones at Sams Club yesterday), I spot tested the labels with a single dot of CLEAR nail polish TOP-COAT.
