The phones have odd ring tones, but the talk sound is exceptionally clear. The answering machine is easy to use. Good purchase, and a value at the price., These phones were easy to set up and sure beat having different brands and styles of phones scattered throughout the house. They are lightweight and the characters are easy to read, the sound quality is fine. We've used Panasonic phones for years, so when I spotted these on Amazon it was an easy choice.
