The phones have odd ring tones, but the talk sound is exceptionally clear. The answering machine is easy to use. Good purchase, and a value at the price., I had an older Panasonic phone and really liked it... unfortunately, callers would get the beep to leave a message and it was not recording. Sound got bad... it was old. I replaced it with this system. I have not had any problems with it yet!There are a few things I don't like. I would not have bought this if I had known... if you enter a name and number in the phone book, it is automatically added to the other hand sets (unlike my previous Panasonic).
